Ask the pupils to present their projects from the previous lesson.

Our world

Refer the pupils to the world map.Point to the UK.Italy and Kazakhstan .Say the name of each country out loud.The pupils repeat after you.Ask the pupils ,in L1 if necessary ,to tell you what they know about these countries,e.g. capital cities, flags,famous landmarks. Explain to the pupils that in this section they will be learning about means of transport in these countries.

Listen and point.

Refer the pupils to the pictures of the different means of transport.Point to the first picture again and explain to the pupils,in L1 if necessary that this is a London double decker bus.Point to the second picture usually found in Venice.Then point to the third picture and tell pupils that this is a train in Kazakhstan.Initiate a class discussion and ask the pupils if they have seen similar means of transport,then ask them to compare them with the means of transport in their own country.

Draw a picture of a bus, boat or train from your country.Present it to the class.

Explain the activity.Ask the pupils to draw a bus a boat or a train from their own country on a piece of paper. Go around the classroom and provide any necessary help.Have the pupils present their drawing to the class.Alternatively,explain the activity and assign it as homework.The pupils can find pictures online.Once the pupils have presented their drawing\pictures,help them file the drawing in their Language Portfolios.

Circle the mistakes.

Put up the Moving Around !poster on the board.Point to and say:In the air.Repeat the phrase and encourage the pupils to copy you. Encourage the pupils to repeat after you.Follow the same procedure and present on land and at sea.Point to different means of transport on the poster.Ask pupils to say the corresponding phrase.

Ask the pupils to draw their favourite means of transport.Display the pupils drawing around the classroom.Then help the pupils file their work in their Language Portfolios.
