There are three prepositions in English that are used with time. And they are:

We always use “in” with time expressions when we want to talk about time.

This preposition is used for:

In April

In November

Years

For instance:

In 1820

Now let’s talk about the preposition “on”.

We also use “on” with time expressions when we want to talk about time.

This preposition is used for:

Days of the week

For example:

On Monday

On Friday

On Sunday

Days of the week + morning/afternoon/evening/night

For instance:

On Wednesday night

On the 2nd of May

On the 3rd of March

Holidays and special days (if we’ve got the word “day”)

For instance:

At 10 o’clock

At 12 o’clock

Parts of the day

For instance:

For example:

Adverbs of frequency

They describe how often an action happens.

There are five main adverbs of frequency that we use in English.

And they are:

Always (всегда)

Usually (обычно)

Often (часто)

Sometimes (иногда)

Never (никогда)

We put the adverbs of frequency before the main verbs and after the modal verbs and the verb “to be”.
